Why bother running a corporate health, fitness and wellbeing program?

Simple answer; because it works. It's become the biggest and most important ingredient of a successful OH&S program.

BUT, it only works if

you've developed a high level wellness culture in your organisation - top bottom and sides.

as a condition of employment, all your staff are involved, preferably in their work groups. If the program is voluntary a whole lot of people are unlikely to attend: - the workaholics and those at greatest risk of increasing your absenteeism, presenteeism and workers compensation costs. It defeats the whole point of the object.

one of the key performance indicators of management effectiveness is the health, fitness and wellbeing of each workgroup - along with the responsibility of reducing the costs of absenteeism, presenteeism, workers compensation and employee retention.
