The program involved assisting the AFP to select suitable tests for their staff, conduct seminar and motivational programs over a 12 week period, conduct individual health and fitness assessment. 70 staff took part in the program.
This program came at the start of the AFP’s serious attempt to improve the health of staff, and will eventually see the implementation of a fitness award that is mandatory for their staff.
Since that time the AFP has appointed four full time staff to manage health and fitness programs nationwide.

During the past two years John Miller has conducted one day Health Management seminar for NPWS staff at Uluru, along with Elite Force Fitness Assessments.
The seminars were evaluated by participant feedback which was included in the final report to NPWS management.
The program was conducted as a means of finding out which staff were in good enough shape to be a part of their rock rescue team. The Elite Force fitness assessment was an important aspect of this program. A feature of the program was pressing home the point that whilst people may look fit, strong and healthy – looks can be deceptive.
